TAABA Spring Rally April 9

The TAABA Spring Rally will be held at 6 PM on April 9, 2012 at Haskins Community Church, 209 E Main Street, Haskins, Ohio. This annual event promises to be a wonderful evening of celebration, reflection, worship and renewal.  Dinner will be served and the cost is $11 per plate.  We will celebrate where we have come from and then turn our attention toward this coming events we have scheduled.  All TAABA churches are invited to join in our Spring Rally celebration as we enjoy a time of fellowship enjoy the company of our American Baptist Churches here in the Toledo area.  Plan now to be a part of the Spring Celebration Rally!

TAABA Board Meeting April 9

TAABA board members please be aware that we will have a quick TAABA Board meeting at the Spring Rally on April 9.  We are asking each Pastor to please come prepared with two names to work on each of the programs that we have listed for this year including the Fall Rally, TAABA Picnic and Worship and the Back to School Bash.  The Board of Trustees consists of the Officers of TAABA, the Pastors of each church in TAABA and the Church Council President from each church including the presidents or leaders of the organizations in each church (such as American Baptist Women, American Baptist Men, American Baptist Youth).

TAABA Picnic June 10

Join our sister Toledo Area American Baptist Association churches on June 10, 2012 as we hold our annual picnic at Side Cut Metropark in Maumee.  Our meal will be served at 2:00 pm. Bring your favorite dish to pass (vegetable or salad dish preferred) and meat will be furnished by TAABA.  There are activities for all ages!  For your comfort, bring your own lawn chair and table to eat on.  We'll have a church triathlon as we enjoy fellowship and food.  Don't miss the fun!  This is a great opportunity to build relationships among all of our local association churches. TAABA at the Mud Hens July 23

Hit a home run and join us for what promises to be a wonderful evening of baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and fellowship with your Toledo Area American Baptist Association churches!  It's TAABA Night at the Mud Hens!  Our Toledo Mud Hens take on Indianapolis at 7 PM at Fifth Third Field.  Details will be coming soon including ticket cost, gathering location and more.  Save the date now for a great night of fun!

Back 2 School Bash HUGE SUCCESS!

The Back 2 School Bash was an overall success for the first year! Nine churches participated, and an estimated 500 school-aged children attended the event. In addition, hundreds of parents and friends also attended. Our churches worked together to provide supplies, entertainment and a sense of mission and fellowship.

Each church was responsible for spreading the word of the event to its individual communities. Notices appeared in the Toledo Blade, local television, Holland-Springfield Journal, as well as in the Neighbors South section of the Toledo Blade. TAABA member churches passed out fliers in their neighborhoods and posted flyers at their workplaces.

It is time to praise God for the wonderful opportunity to not only reach out to the world as God called us, but to also gather hand-in-hand with our local TAABA churches working as servants of Christ!

Now it is time to evaluate what took place, look at what we can do better and make plans for future events based on what we learned. We will keep you posted on the results of this work and what is decided in the future. Also, pictures from the event will soon be posted. Keep stopping by to see the results! God is great!
